It writes fine. When the writing process completes it opens the tray but it doesn't close it again for the verification process to take place. The program doesn't freeze. If I push the cancel button it responds fine. I closed the tray by the open/close button but the process didn't start. The system could read the disk without any problem. Have anyone else this problem?

It happens to me too, after the burn is complete the tray is ejected, though for me k3b freezes. Inserting the disc again doesn't help, it stays frozen till I kill it. Using k3b 1.0.4-1 and Openbox so no complete KDE environment is installed, only whatever k3b depends on.

I found a bug reference...

So it seems to be an upstream bug, guess we have to wait for 1.0.5 then. Thanks for sharing the link.

There is a patch... Maybe the maintainer could rebuild k3b including the patch.

Is this already on bugs.archlinux.org?

Just thought that I'd share this: As there didn't seem to be any activity with Bug 151816 at the time, I fiddled around a little and found that verification will work here if k3b is set it to not eject the medium after the write process is complete (Settings -> Advanced, Miscellaneous, Do not eject medium after write process).

Confirmed! It works for me too.
