When running vim as root from konsole (using KDE4) I get the following message when I close a file:

I found this old thread about the same issue: http://bbs.archlinux.org:80/viewtopic.php?id=45054
But it does not mention a real solution. If I use vi, I do not get that warning. Does somebody know how I can get rid of this warning?

xhost root@$HOSTNAME
Run that as your normal user.
You'll need to run it every time you want to use vim, but it should work.
(PS. This is my 600th post. *yay*)

Windows was made for looking at success from a distance through a wall of oversimplicity. Linux removes the wall, so you can just walk up to success and make it your own.

It does not seem to remove the messages. I find it's still strange that I only get this with vim and not with any other progam (even not with vi) and I have never seen this with any other distribution. I guess I will just ignore the messages.

I get the same message after closing mc (running as root)

I did this in my .bashrc from root
export XAUTHORITY=/home/<user>/.Xauthority
And everything is good.
