And GStreamer is already set to output to ALSA.
(When output is set to OSS, there are no errors, but no sound either. Not really surprising.)

]]>When I try to play an OGG with Rhythmbox, it fails to play it with that stupid "Internal GStreamer error: pad problem. File a bug" message. When I try to play an MP3, the stupid thing crashes and quits (with no unusual messages if I run it from the console, other than "pausing pipe" just before the crash if I do 'rhythmbox -d').
I haven't seen what happens with FLAC files, but I doubt they'll work.
Compiling and reinstalling GStreamer with ABS does not help; neither does doing the same with GST-Plugins, which I would have thought was the origin of this problem. I'll try using ABS on Rhythmbox itself, and see if that works, but I have doubts about it.
System sounds work quite fine - I get the correct noises when logging on and off, starting programs, etc. In fact, I can't turn the system noises off, even though I have the option for them deselected, which I find rather annoying.
BMP works quite fine, so I'll use it until I can get Rhythmbox working. I'm having problems with BMP's playback volume though, so as of right now I must where my headphones only half on.
