Must be a revenge of the Greenpeace.
Anyway I have now blacklisted the module, we'll see what happens.

I can consistently lock up X/kde when doing a horizontal maximization (aka, right click on maximize button) of konsole.
Do desktop effects have to be enabled for this?

I've had a similar problem on this computer, intermittently more or less since I got it, I think. At varying times, my system would freeze totally. If sound was playing it would loop. I also noticed the SP5100 related messages in my dmesg logs, as well as the "ioremap" message. I've blacklisted sp5100_tco, and now that message no longer appear in the logs. The ioremap error continues to appear (this is more or less my first boot since the change).
I'm currently not running Arch Linux, but am experiencing this problem on both Ubuntu and Fedora. The problem has persisted from distro versions 10.10 to 11.04 and 14 to 15, respectively. I should note that I am also using an nvidia graphics card with the proprietary drivers.
I really hope we're looking at the same problem, because I'm pretty much pulling my fscking hair out over this right now.

The only thing I can think of that would be causing this is the nVidia drivers. I tried reverting to the 256 drivers from AUR, but they don't support the current version of Xorg.
