I would like to *learn* openbox, I have seem very nice screenshots of it, but I have yet to learn how to do it, is there any good place to learn??
Have a look into Arch wiki: http://wiki2.archlinux.org/index.php/Ge … AndRunning
It is not up to date (but still usefull). But as far as i know "miqorz" is going to bring it up to date.
Otherwise gentoo`s forum is always good for a look. For example this http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-71 … enbox.html
I used openbox for a long time, but i fell in love with pekwm (dev snapshot). It's very similar to openbox, but it's more configureable in my eyes.
My screenshot: http://cip.physik.uni-wuerzburg.de/~lor … pril05.png
Here you can download the pekwm-dev package and some nice themes.
Package:
http://cip.physik.uni-wuerzburg.de/~lor … pkg.tar.gz
That pretty much describes fluxbox.
The root menu can be emulated in any wm (check out grootmenu)
