Client works like a champ. Only a few times they killed it with an update to their Steam Runtime.
Sam Latinga the guy behind SDL was quick to roll out temporary fixes in the form of tar.gz's and shell scripts.
Even over the weekend the Valve team seemed to be active in the github bugtracker.
I'm looking forward to playing more and more games natively on Linux.

Jukkan, yesterday there was a steam update as well. Perhaps this will solve your problems?
It did not, but changing export __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS from 1 to 0 from hl2.sh did!

Xfce, with Compiz as the WM. I haven't had the chance to try this yet, but I'll try to remember to do so as soon as I get home.
