So far, testing seems very sturdy, but I am not deluding myself that this will always be the case. I have not -Syu 'ed my whole system. I am happy to avoid this by switching testing on and off for full updates.

The problem you had was a directory conflict which should not happen. Several peple had this problem with kdebindings. It could be a problem with kdebindings itsel or a pacman/database problem.
]]>I reinstalled perl. Just out of interest, if you look through the packages contained in kdebindings, perl seems to be apart of it now. Is that correct?

I can not find any info on this via google. I issued
rm -R /usr/lib/perl5
and installation took place. I am not who to inform here, so I thought to place a quick write up here
