This fails:
mysql -u root
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
But this does well:
mysql -u root -p
Enter password:
Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or g.
Your MySQL connection id is 2 to server version: 4.1.14
Type 'help;' or 'h' for help. Type 'c' to clear the buffer.
mysql>
I get error:
$ mysql
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
I'm out of luck here, does anyone have suggestions for where to look?
