The problem is not catalyst, because if I use the free driver on the HD 5xxx, I am the same problem (black screen)
I think it's my graphics card which was not detected or something else. But when I do : lspci. The HD5xxx was detected at the PCI 2:0:0.
This is my Xorg.log with catalyst
Xorg.log with free driver
And if you want my xorg.conf
(I hope you can understand me :s)
Thanks !
Thanks for your help
]]>I have try with 2 device section : one for 5650 and the other for 4200, and just with one section for 5650 but that change nothing.
But I thing X auto-detect 4200 and try to run with, even if device is specified in Screen section.
]]>Here is my problem :
I have a laptop with 2 graphics cards (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series and Radeon HD 5650 ), and I want to use Catalyst for ATI's cards >= 5000 to use the Radeon HD 5650. The problem is when I run X with : "startx" (.xinit => "xterm & sleep 10") not with root, I have a black screen and a cursor of the tty top-left of the screen during the 10 seconds and I return on tty. I don't see error in Xorg.log.
HD 5650 is on PCI:2:0:0
HD 4200 is on PCI:1:5:0
I use [xorg112] repo and I have try [xorg111] too. My xorg.conf is really basic, I have use "aticonfig --initial"
I have try to use [catalyst] repo, [community] and AUR but no one run successful.
I don't want to use catalyst-hd234k, because the fan of the HD 5650 is to noisy and I can't stop it, it's the same with the free driver. But this drivers work.
I hope I was be clear. (I'm not good in Engish sorry, French ArchLinux forum could'nt help me)
Thanks a lot.
