Edit: Version 1 is in the AUR: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/libftdi1/

Sure, on the package page there's a link "Flag Package Out-of-Date" under "Package Actions". Get instructions and details via the question mark link.
]]>I have been using Arch for a while now and I have to say it has been a great experience, I love it more than any distribution out there and by far. What I want to say/ask here is absolutely not a criticism as I know people are working hard everyday to keep it great.
I was just trying to compile something today and the compile script failed because I have version 0.2 of libftdi instead of version 1.0. Now I could download the new version and compile that too but that got me thinking about getting a little more involved...
I know being new in the community, I can't just access the pacman repositories and start pushing new stuff and I wouldn't know where to begin anyway, but is there a way for me to let someone know that a new version is out or just check the status? Version 0.2 is one and a half years old now and version 1.0 has been out for 8 months so maybe there's a valid reason for not doing it, I have no idea.
Anyway, I want to say again, my intention is not to offend anyone here and I hope someday in the future I can be of more help.
Thank you.
Francois
