I have underground(arch based) installed on my box and theyr site is down now, the comunity here is way better so i'll post here my problem.
I have 320 MB RAM. When it boots up in init5 i have around 10-20mb of free memory. When I go into init3 i have about 100mb free. There are too many procesess/services running. So i try to start KSysV, it asks for first time configuration, i left it the default wich is debian i think coz i didn't knew wich configuration arch resembles the most so now it crashes, i looked in the diferent rc files but i don't have too much experience with this and there dosen't seem to be all the application/services listed in there.
So can anyone tell me how to setup KSysV right(config files coz the program won't start)?
And is there a list of common procesess that run on a linux box and what they do? I want to know what i can remove from boot-up and what is necesary for the system to work properly. I want a simple desktop, no cups or samba or anything like that, just a single user desktop, with networking.
