I thought the nvidia package is tied to linux kernel version so it's not possible to ignore it in pacman.conf.
The nvidia package is tied to the linux package. The current version of the nvidia package supports kepler and is built for the current linux package.
Should I switch to nvidia-dkms then? Sorry I'm confused.
You could switch from nvidia to nvidia-dkms. There would be no benefit if you are using the current version of the linux package.
]]>Drivers released after august will no longer support Kepler cards and as I use GTX 660 this concerns me. Will there be a 'final' legacy driver package for Kepler or am I stuck with nvidia-390xx-dkms?
