add
104.26.3.148 play.pika-network.net
to /etc/hosts , reboot and try to connect.
Incase that also fails, post /etc/hosts from the distro where things do work.

That clarifies pika registered their domain through cloudflare .

8.8.8.8 is google public DNS servers.
All 3 of the addresses under the answer section are assigned to cloudflare so confirm cloudlflare is important for reaching pika .
The 104.26.2.148 is what pinging pika over ipv4 gave on my system.
I suggest you try to connect again.
Incase it fails also, look at the /etc/hosts from pop os .
Does it have any pika reference in it ?
getent hosts play.pika-network.net
104.26.2.148 play.pika-network.net
and i did play.pika-network in my etc/hosts like this
# Static table lookup for hostnames.
# See hosts(5) for details.
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost
127.0.1.1 arch.localdomain ash
104.26.2.148 play.pika-network.net
~
but before doing the /etc/hosts it was
getent hosts play.pika-network.net
149.202.64.58 play.pika-network.net
╭─ash@ash ~
╰─➤
add the line below to /etc/hosts
pika-network.net 104.26.2.148
post the output of
$ getent hosts pika-network.net
Apart from lack of dnssec support (or maybe it's just disabled) the connection tests show no issues.
The youtube results are different from what i get though, possibly some firewall or proxy between you and youtube .
A website test for play.pika-network.net from my connection gives a different picture, https://internet.nl/site/play.pika-netw … /1474910/#
It looks like they only connect over ipv4 and may have an incorrect https setup .
(No idea if minecraft servers use https connections) .
Pop OS and the vpn you used may prefer ipv4 connections over ipv6, while archlinux prefers ipv6 (unless no ipv6 address is found )
The problem could be with pika or cloudflare , not on your system / archlinux .
I suggest you show the maintainers of play.pika-network.net the report .
so for pop os connection test....this is the one https://internet.nl/connection/43ad19402ed44c45a34bda3d0ad609c3/results
and for the website test for pop os....this is the one https://internet.nl/site/www.youtube.com/1474254/
and for arch
website one...... https://internet.nl/site/www.youtube.com/1474265/
connection test one ........ https://internet.nl/connection/323391030b1b4ff982d9c7e0ac06cfef/results#
be sure to check both of them but i know connection is the most important......
]]>The 2 /64 addresses on ip v6 are odd and don't match the ip v4 addresses.
It almost looks as your wifi card is connected to 2 different networks or some kind of tunneling is used .
Please visit https://internet.nl/ (supports dutch & english) and run their connection test from both archlinux and pop-os .
If the results are different of each other tell us which tests failed .
