So do I. If you can't get the maintainers on IRC then email them... that's what it's there for.
I know what emails are made for, but I like public comunication! it's better for all of us! nobodie's perfect!
]]>just don try sundays or between midinght and 10:00 Central time (which is about 6 hours behind paris time)
email works well too. judd responds quickly as does Orelien and myself.
]]>So getting in contact with the maintainers is pretty hard, but I want to help them!
which maintainers are you referring to?
]]>personally i would say to not use those CGI based scripts...
Better would be just write a small PHP script, which takes not that much CPU time.
Ehrm, if that is your reasoning, consider these facts:
[_] You know what CGI actually means
[_] You are aware that PHPs interpreter is anything but the fastest available
[_] Using little boxes is cool
But in general the problem is that i don't think that people really want to access the irc over the website...
That was my first thought as well, but then I was really only speaking for myself. What if you're at work, where you simply only have web access? Or if you just want to drop into the chat without the installation of an IRC client, maybe when you're at a friend's computer or just too darn lazy?
It's probably not a must have, but if the maintainance can be kept low, it probably wouldn't hurt. *shrug*
My 2c.
