Downgrading fakeroot does work, and this is being looked at.]]>https://bbs.archlinux.org/profile.php?id=63882009-03-09T00:42:02Zhttps://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=512222#p512222I can confirm: downgrading fakeroot to the version in [core] solves the problem.]]>https://bbs.archlinux.org/profile.php?id=81592009-03-08T20:50:47Zhttps://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=512103#p512103fakeroot would put it in the right time frame. I linked to your bug report Anarconda as it seems like the same problem. As always if anyone has anything to add, please do:

I've been seeing them for about two or three days. Sometimes the system will hang for a few seconds at "Starting make" with 100% CPU usage, then will continue normally. Other times it will stop in the middle of compiling and CPU usage will drop to 0. Also, I've been seeing small hang ups with patches. Maybe four or five seconds when simple patches are being applied. Bringing MAKEFLAGS down to the default 2 from 3 seems to help a tiny bit.]]>https://bbs.archlinux.org/profile.php?id=63882009-03-08T18:18:50Zhttps://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=512013#p512013
