I see a need for a programming forum. Every once in a while someone on the arch forums posts a programming question, and there is no real place for it.
Sometimes it ends up in newbie, sometimes in off-topic, etc.
Its a nice idea.
I suggest we add it in Contributions category:
General Programming Forum - if you have a programming question post it here.
]]>One small point: I'd move the Package Upgrade out of General and maybe to Arch Help.
I changed it to: "Package and Security Advisories". Its an important forum allowing users to know whenever there is defective package upgrade. I would like to keep it visible much as possible.... even in a separate category together with announcement.
]]>... maybe 'Board and Wiki'.
Its a good idea! Moreover documentation (wiki) is retaled to Contribution category.

]]>Where do 'Documentation Discussion' posts go in this layout?
I think the concensus was that board and documentation discussion fell within the remit of the Arch Discussion group. Seems sensible to me.

Its understandable when Arch has matured and there are no longer problems requiring long discussion. Now its more about usage and helping new users to get into Arch. For oldtimers there is not much to do when there are many willing to share/help with their first experience.
It was expected, therefore I took interest in the user contributions to keep focusing in programming and have a place to discovering new things.

you said you were looking for a ftp klient to kde,
python got built-in ftplib so you can pretty easy write one yourself,
I don't know anything about pyqt but I think it is working atleast,
how is it going with the theme Dusty? You've been working on it for years now, must be a bloody good looking one when it's done,
lost interest. 8)

]]>Seems like "Package Configuration Problems" should merge with " Workstation User"
Workstation User:
Setting up Arch as a workstation, post your problems here. Package install and configure, and issues about printing and mounting.Package Configuration Problems:
Problems setting up apache, vsftpd, php, bind, etc etc..
There is some duplication there, perhaps, but all the listed projects (apache, vsftpd, php, bind) should actually probably go into Networking, Server, and Security. However, the contents of Package Configuration should probably be divided between this and Workstation, since a lot of workstation packages go there. What say, Rasat? (you da boss )
