Where have updates gone?

For approximately 2 weeks already, pacman -Syu says everything is aup-to-date and there's nothing to do. Installing new packets with pacman -S works ok though, so I can't say pacman's not working. But I can't believe there were no updates during 2 weeks. Any ideas?

Re: Where have updates gone?

Shot in the dark but try pacman -Syy  to force it to redownload the database files, and then pacman -Suu. Not sure what the double u does but I saw it posted a few times through out the beginners guide, cuz I just got a few updates last night. But depending on what all you have installed, it may really be update free

It doesn't matter how much training you have. A broken rib is still a broken rib.

Re: Where have updates gone?

If that doesn't work you might be on a server that isn't syncing, you can check out https://www.archlinux.de/?page=MirrorProblems to see if the server you're using is on that list

Re: Where have updates gone?

So where can I get a list of active, up-to-date, correctly-tiered mirrors?

Here: https://www.archlinux.de/?page=MirrorStatus and for some status information about failing mirrors: https://www.archlinux.de/?page=MirrorProblems.

But even if I set kernel.org, or, for example, atviras.lt (both of them are in the list), as the only mirror in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist and force redownloading the database with -Syy and -Suu, it still says everything is up-to-date and there is nothing to do (which is impossible - I used to have some updates every day, and now no updates for weeks already).

Re: Where have updates gone?

I've had this problem for the last three+ days since attempting to update for KDE 4.5. I haven't tried to update anything for the last two weeks before it.
See moderator's response. My apologies, StrangeAttractor.

That'd be an oversight on my part, ngoonee. smile Thanks for the update. I'll edit the original post to reflect it.

Don't do that, next time. Editing posts is generally a bad idea, it makes the whole thread seem disconnected smile
