Re: Installing Skype

Pick a mirror from https://www.archlinux.de/?page=MirrorStatus , place it in your pacman.conf, like so:

[community]
Server = http://archlinux.mirrors.uk2.net/$repo/os/$arch

refresh your mirrorlist 'pacman -Syy' and try again installing skype.

Re: Installing Skype

I'm betting you have 64bit then.  Search here and/or wiki.  LOTS of results.

Re: Installing Skype

you can install the bin32-skype from aur like jwbirdsong mentioned or if you don't want to mingle the 64 bit libraries with 32 bit, then you can create a separate chroot and install all 32 bit apps in there.

If you are not comfortable in creating a chroot manually, you can use Xyne's amazing arch32-light from AUR, which basically creates and sets up a 32 bit chroot for you.
