Re: [SOLVED] No such file or directory

You need to install hal before you could start it:

pacman -S hal

Re: [SOLVED] No such file or directory

Also, what do you need hal for? Hal has been deprecated by xorg 1.8, pcmanfm... *tries to think of other hal-hating programs*

Re: [SOLVED] No such file or directory

First of all, that guide is probably outdated. Hal in X has been deprecated in version 1.8.

Second of all, the ArchWiki should be your first stop for any knowledge pertaining to Arch Linux. Have you read the Beginner's Guide?

http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginner's_Guide

And the Fluxbox and X wiki guides.

http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fluxbox

Re: [SOLVED] No such file or directory

Welcome to the forums, 1Anon. First up, if you are serious about Arch, following a guide on youtube is a recipe for disaster:take schen's advice and use the Beginners' Guide and the relevant sections of the wiki for your WM of choice.

Second, please edit your post title and remove the [Help]: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/For … ow_to_Post

You'll enjoy Arch a lot more if you read all the documentation before posting. Enjoy your stay.
