No korean in thunar/console

Hello everybody,

I would like to backup some smb folders with Korean names, but the problem is that I can't get any Korean text displayed in thunar nor the console. In Firefox the Korean is displayed correctly.

I enabled the Korean UTF-8 locales on my system and installed the font package I found in the AUR but that didn't help.

Can someone give me a hint how I can solve this? I looked up the wiki and Google but couldn't find something useful.

Re: No korean in thunar/console

Did you execute the command 'locale-gen'?

Try to switch to a not x-server console by using ctrl+alt+F2 (for instance but you can also try with F3 or F4...).

Just installing a font won't help. You have to actually enable it too.

Re: No korean in thunar/console

Thanks for your feedback,

can you tell my how I can enable this font in my shell?

After I enable ko_KR.UTF-8 UTF-8 and ko_KR.EUC-KR EUC-KR in /etc/locale.gen, i run locale-gen.

To change to a none X console has effect, I tryed it with xfce-console and urxvt aswell.
