Well without errors, there's pretty much nothing we can do. I guess you'll have to find out anyway wink.

This fits more in the Newbie Corner.

/var/log/ directory contains logs that may be of interest to you.

I suppose you mean that it flashed by too quickly to read it smile Please check your logs (/var/log/Xorg.0.log in particular, there may also be a gdm log...) and post any relevant findings.

Re: GDM don't start!

I ran into this problem when I had xf86-video-nouveau
I had to remove it and use xf86-video-nv

Why should I need to config the nouveau driver when i use the "real"  nvidia drivers? Don't make any sense...

Re: GDM don't start!

xf86-video-nv is not the "real" nvidia driver. It's the obfuscated nvidia open-source driver that has been deprecated by nouveau. If you want the proprietary one, check the wiki.

Alright, but i had already the proprietary NVIDIA drivers installed and GDM doesn't start before I installed xf86-input-nv, so the problem was i my propitary drivers? But how can I get gdm works with the propitary drivers then?

Re: GDM don't start!

so after install nvidia and nvidia-utils you need to restart because kernel 2.6.35 has nouveau enabled by default. restarting you ensure that nouveau is blacklisted and doesn't use your card anymore. nvidia package has a blacklist file for nouveau
