Multiple mirrors

Please excuse me if this questions has been asked and/or answere already, I could not find anything about it.

In general, would it be a good/bad/really awful idea to have different servers in pacman's mirrorlist uncommented? Why?

Re: Multiple mirrors

Depends how you use pacman. Many people have about a dozen mirrors uncommented, e.g. mirrors from their country.
That's really not a big deal.

Re: Multiple mirrors

It doesn't matter how many servers you have uncommented. pacman will always pick the first server that can provide the package that you are trying to install/update.

However, it is always good to have multiple servers enabled so that in case your primary mirror goes down or shuts down, then the other mirrors can provide you with what you need without you having to do anything. If you don't have multiple mirrors in the mirrorlist, you will simply assume that there are no updates.
