Hi,
is there any way I could find out which Arch linux release has current system been isntalled from?

I would just take a look at /var/log/pacman.log and see when "filesystem" was installed, and I'd take a guess based on that, so, if it's installed, in example, on April 1st, it's from a 2009.08. release.
Just my guess.

Yeah I don't think there's a direct way to know for sure, the top of /var/log/pacman.log will tell you when you first installed your system which should do the trick unless you installed with something other than the latest iso at the time.

You could track the kernel version as well. Older downloadable releases include a separate change log file stating which kernel version the snapshot uses. For the two latest you'll find information here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DeveloperWiki
I haven't seen any organized collection of all change logs.
I'm feeling very kind today, so here's a list:
2007.05 --> kernel 2.6.21.1
2007.08 --> kernel 2.6.22.9
2008.03 --> kernel 2.6.24.4
2008.06 --> kernel 2.6.25.6
2009.02 --> kernel 2.6.28
2009.08 --> kernel 2.6.30.4-1
2010.05 --> kernel 2.6.33.4-1

Ok those are some useful tips, thanks folks.
This is how first line of my pacman.log looks:
[2009-05-25 20:50] installed filesystem (2009.01-1)
the filesystem version 2009.01 was installed in 2009.05, so the release must be in between. Like this, I think I can make a pretty accurate guess...
edit: typo
