[Solved] Upgrading ATI driver didn't really... update ATI driver

Hi

I have the catalyst 10.8 installed and 10.9 came out. I installed the 10.8 via yaourt, so I ran

# yaourt -Syu --aur

which listed the fglrx driver as ready to be updated.

It updated it, I rebooted the computer and my ATI catalyst control centre still says it's 10.8.

I googled and found this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/641890

Exactly the same problem, but I don't know how to replicate the solution because I neither have /var/lib/dkms , nor do I have kcl_ioctl.c file (running "locate kcl_ioctl" results in nothing, even after updatedb)

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Bo

Never mind, I ended up removing the old driver, and installing the new one again.

For the next time.
Simply delete /etc/ati/amdpcsdb. After reboot the right version will be displayed.
But be warned!! You will lost your settings made before, since this are stored within the drivers own database, amdpcsdb.
