Emacs font looks different on Arch than Fedora

Hello,

On my Arch linux, fonts are not displayed smoothly on emacs. This works well on the fedora machine. Please take a look at the screenshots.

Arch      - http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/3738/arch.png
Fedora  -  http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/7554/fedora.png

Output from "describe-font"

Arch     - DejaVu Sans Mono:pixelsize=13:foundry=unknown:weight=normal:slant=normal:width=normal:spacing=100:scalable=true
Fedora - DejaVu Sans Mono:pixelsize=16:foundry=unknown:weight=normal:slant=normal:width=normal:spacing=100:scalable=true

The only difference here is on the pixelsize. Will that be the problem? If yes how can I set that to 16?

Can any one help to fix this issue?

Looks like there is a related discussion (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=96972). It says "emacs" can be compiled with "--with-xft " flag which will solve this issue. But I don't know how to do this. I have installed emacs using pacman. Can I recompile it with this extra flag using pacman?
