kde sound problems

well i started with gnome and im familiar with it but i wanted to use KDE and its so much faster in games i cant go back to gnome but i just cant seem to get sound working in kde ive done so much to try and nothing.i have done everything with KMix and i am in the audio group and when i test sounds it works but heres something i cant figure out:

[leercrak@leercrak ~]$ sudo start-pulseaudio-kde
W: main.c: This program is not intended to be run as root (unless --system is specified).
Failure: Module initalization failed
[leercrak@leercrak ~]$ sudo start-pulseaudio-kde --system
E: main.c: --start not supported for system instances.
[leercrak@leercrak ~]$

so if i test sound it works and everything works in gnome but not in kde and ive checked alot of different recources about this :<

Re: kde sound problems

Try running start-pulseaudio-kde as a normal user.

Re: kde sound problems

Silly question..but have you installed phonon and a backend of your choice, e.g.: pacman -S phonon-xine ?
