any idea why 'pacman -S uswsusp' returns nothing?[SOLVED]

should i conclude i have the wrong( not up to date ) repos enabled?

uswsusp is not on the official repos. It's on the AUR: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=14093

uswsusp is in the AUR http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=14093 if you want to install AUR packages from the command line theres plenty of AUR helpers http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR_helper my favorites are clyde and bauerbill
