Arch=#1, but what's #2??

I've given up on getting arch to run on my netbook, because I run into endless problems that my laptop doesn't. So I'm wondering what other distro I should use that will satisfy me enough to forget it's not archlinux? More importantly, one that works on a netbook well.

I cannot dispute that archlinux is the best distro i've used before, but for this netbook I have to surrender after 7 weeks of trying to get arch to work on it.

What would Archlinux users consider to be the 2nd best distro behind arch? Not gentoo though, if you will, because I just don't like the idea of compiling everything I want (though occational compiling is fine). To everyone that replies, thanks for the opinions!

What sort of problems are you having? If (for example) its that hardware is not supported, basically every linux will have the same problem, since they're all from the same upstream....

Fedora was my favorite before I switched to arch, and Zenwalk before that, but I've also been pretty interested in Debian lately
