[ SOLVED ] Replacing Grub with Grub2

Is there advantage to replacing the current default grub with grub2 and if so, is it just a straight forward as

    pacman -Sy grub2 as root

    # grub-install /dev/sda --no-floppy

    # grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Just like some further clarity before hand ... I dual boot too with windows 7 sda1 and arch /root sda2 /home sda3

Many thanks

Re: [ SOLVED ] Replacing Grub with Grub2

I recently tried to switch to grub2.
Everything went fine apart from 2 glitches:
The mkconfig script didn't work, so I had to add everything manually to the grub file, and, most importantly, I lost my consoles.
So back to good old grub legacy for me - I'll give grub2 another year or so, till  it becomes stable enough.
