Okay,
So, I have two servers in the LAN (there is more than these two, but only they attract my current attention ) Fifi and Stinky. Fifi is a web server running CentOS. I turn the thing on and when needed, I tap the power switch and the thing turns itself of. Cool.
Stinky is a different mattter. He's my print server and to put him to bed, I need to log in (after turning on the screen) and issue the "halt" command.
What do I install so Stinky knows the same neat trick as Fifi? Stinky runs Arch, I'll NOT change that
Thanks!

The real question would be 'how do I switch off my computer by pressing the power button', and Watermelon's link covers that nicely. Your topic title is very bizarre since your explanation already asks the right question; yet your topic title is irrelevant to the issue.
I shut down my systems like that all the time - my laptop, my desktop, ... The server stays on .

Tnx Watermel0n - lemme read this up!
.:B:. - you're right, the print (and other) server should stay awake, but I'd like to conserve a little bit of power, got ten machines on the LAN at the moment...oh well, it's a hobby....
I'll mark this as solved, with an apology for posting in the wrong spot - though I did think it was the right one...
Wellness!
