Dm-Crypt "essiv" not functioning

Hi guys, I was trying encrypting my partition and "essiv" is not working but "plain" works? Any ideas on how to get it to work? Do I have to modprobe essiv?

Works

 serpent-xts-plain -h whirlpool

Doesn't work

 setpent-xts-essiv -h whirlpool

I'm using the Net-install ISO (archlinux-2010.05-netinstall-i686.iso).

Should this be moved to Installation?
