Xfce 4.8 and mounting at boot

I'm trying out Xfce 4.8 and based on someone else's post I removed the udev rule so that I can use Thunar mount and unmount my USB drive as user. However the drive is no longer automounted at boot.

If I plug in the drive after Xfce has started, then it will automount but I generally leave the drive plugged in and I want it to mount at boot.

How can I have my USB drive mount at boot but still be able to unmount it with Thunar?
