[SOLVED] - hibernate/resume with grub2

Hi,

I'm just trying to to grips with grub2 and hibernation but fail to see where or what to put in /etc/grub.d/40_custom for the resume path.

The pm-utils wiki only handles grub legacy and it does not get mentioned at all on the grub2 page. Anybody out there with the answer? Will amend wiki pages, honest wink

Hi,

you have to put resume=/dev/swap-partition to the kernel line in /boot/grub/menu.lst

Re: [SOLVED] - hibernate/resume with grub2

That is what it says in the wiki and is valid for grub legacy (and works smile ).

However, I've got grub2 and am unsure as to how to put the resume command into /etc/grub.d/40_custom...

No need to edit 40_custom file. Directly add resume=/dev/<swap_partition> to kernel line in /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Yeah, but doesn't that get overwritten with the next kernel?

Re: [SOLVED] - hibernate/resume with grub2

Adjusted pm-utils wiki accordingly.
