[SOLVED, but not perfect]thunar mixed gnome and tango icons

the newly upgraded thunar mixed the gnome and tango icons for days. i don't know how to solve this problem.

once if i removed the gnome-icon-theme, it will cause other programs icon problem.

the 4 icons: Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures
thunar pic

and the gtk-icon-theme in $HOME/.gtkrc-2.0

# DO NOT EDIT! This file will be overwritten by LXAppearance.
# Any customization should be done in ~/.gtkrc-2.0.mine instead.

gtk-theme-name="Raleigh"
gtk-icon-theme-name="Tango"
gtk-font-name="Sans 9"
gtk-cursor-theme-name="ComixCursors-Black-Regular"
gtk-cursor-theme-size=0
gtk-toolbar-style=GTK_TOOLBAR_ICONS
gtk-toolbar-icon-size=GTK_ICON_SIZE_LARGE_TOOLBAR
gtk-button-images=1
gtk-menu-images=1
gtk-enable-event-sounds=1
gtk-enable-input-feedback-sounds=1
include "/home/alvin/.gtkrc-2.0.mine"

below links are how gnome icon theme and tango icon theme look like:
gnome-icon-theme
tango-icon-theme

so any idea to let thunar use only the tango icon theme?
thanks

*update*  the icon theme tango in nautilus and pcmanfm works fine.

Re: [SOLVED, but not perfect]thunar mixed gnome and tango icons

Exatly the same here. Without gnome.icon-theme there are icons missing in Thunar 1.2.1, like Filesystem and Network. With gnome-icons installed those get corrected but otjhers like Folder stays with gnome-icons even if you change icon theme.

Re: [SOLVED, but not perfect]thunar mixed gnome and tango icons

What happens if you just use the Gnome theme and no Tango? Those particular folder can use special icons however because Tango doesn't provide them I think its defaulting to the Gnome ones.

Edit: you can try editing /usr/share/icons/Tango/index.theme and tell it not to inherit gnome.

hi, thx for replying

if the gtk icon theme is gnome-icon-theme, with/without tango-icon-theme installed, things are going on well. but it's really ugly.. =.=

if i edit the file /usr/share/icons/Tango/index.theme, and change

Inherits=gnome,crystalsvg

to anything or simple delete it. but it fails... the gtk icon theme still looks into gnome icon when tango don't have the needed icon.

Re: [SOLVED, but not perfect]thunar mixed gnome and tango icons

Well you can simply add the missing icons to the Tango theme. I believe they go inside the Places subfolder and are named folder-documents.png, folder-downloads.png, folder-music.png, and folder-videos.png.
