server hostname

i have a server that has several samba shares on it. it's connected through 2 network interfaces: eth0 and eth1. eth0 has ip 10.0.0.1 and eth1 has ip 112.113.114.5. i can connect to the shares with either ip but using the server's hostname only works for eth1's ip. how can i make it work for both?

Re: server hostname

Set up some DNS service on the 10.0.0. subnet.

- or -
you could have entries in your hosts file (even on windaes):
10.0.0.1  server server-e0
112.113.114.5 server-e1

Obviously (I hope) this absolutely requires static ip's on your server - but then, who would run a server on dynamic ip-addy if no dns?
