firehol

i wanted to install a firewall on my laptop.
so i isntalled iptables and then looked for a frontend. i tried gufw, but didn't like it. too slow, unclear.

i tried some others, then came accross firehol, which i liked the more.
but i can't find any documentation about it. is it still supported?

in arch, should i run it as a daemon and call it in rc.conf? if so, is the iptables daemon still needed?

thank you

Re: firehol

ok.. running it as a daemon seemed the right thing to do.
it's working fine and i configured my interfaces.. except the openvpn bridge.
well, the tap1/tap0 device should be well configured, it's just that openvpn CLIENT can't establish a connection.
but the policy for wlan0 is "client accept all".

how should it be done?

Re: firehol

Best to start a new topic for a different problem...
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fo … _Hijacking
and
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fo … ow_to_Post
Specifically:

Choose one topic per thread. Long threads are typically discouraged in the technical issue subforums. Try not to post multiple questions in a single topic -- this makes it difficult to search for specific problems.
