lxde and xdefaults

i wanted to improve the look of xterm, which i use sometimes to launch cl applications, so i tried editing the .Xdefaults, but it's being ignored.
i'm running lxde and this issue has already been reported here ( https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=691960 ). does anyone knows about any solution?

PS: is there any other terminal as lightweight as xterm?

urxvt (http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra … t-unicode/) seems to be the most popular.

dwm - colours - ncmpcpp - system

Re: lxde and xdefaults

thanks for the tip

EDIT: i'm happily (almost) using urxvt now.
.Xresources (with xrdb .Xresources in my .xinitrc) works. didn't bother anymore with .Xdefaults.
