translucent OR aero-styled OR cristal theme in GTK?

Hi,

I have tried to make my window border translucent like Aero style in Windows,
but no luck.

I tried to activate RGBA support in Murrine engine and some other steps as discribed in following link:
http://xtrabuntu.blogspot.com/2010/12/e … gnome.html

Has anyone successfully made this?
And could you please share the steps?

Thank you very much.
BR,
Henry

ps. my Destop Environment is Gnome,
and in my memory, I did not install/setup compiz (or something like that) before.

what you want can be achieved with compiz + emerald + some windows aero clone theme.

if you want the blurr effect below transparencies, make sure your hardware can handle it wink it needs to be setup within the blur compiz plugin

thank you, eldragon.

I will check and try those components.
just wondering that why it is so hard for Gnome?
In xfce4, this ability is built in...
