Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

epoch
Used to force the package to be seen as newer than any previous versions with a lower epoch, even if the version number would normally not trigger such an upgrade. This value is required to be a positive integer; the default value if left unspecified is 0. This is useful when the version numbering scheme of a package changes (or is alphanumeric), breaking normal version comparison logic. See pacman(8) for more information on version comparisons.

so 1:0.25 is like a 1.0.25 ..... but only for pacman , right ?

epoch is the old force option. when pacman does the version check, if epoch exists, the actually version is ignored.

so , for example
mythtv 1:0.25-2 force override of mythtv 0.xy-z for every xy-z; for example, overrides mythtv 0.99.9-9
but with mythtv 1:0.25-2 can't upgrade an installed mythtv 1:0.26-1
right ?

right, when epoch are equals then the true version is checked.
once you increased epoch you are leaving like that, don't remove or decrease.
