[SOLVED] Auto mount other HDD

I have diskutil and it normally lets me go in and mount my other HDD or external HDD but currently I can't mount the 2nd internal. Is there an easier way to have the internal automatically mount and for thumb drives and such auto mount? I have figured most everything else out (install grub2, grub2 image, boot splash) that were issues for a while but this one is stumping me. If you need to know any settings I'm running or what not just ask. I know my way around the basics but don't know where all the files are located so I might have to get a nudge with the /etc/boot/grub type name to the file.

/etc/fstab for internal hard drives, something udisks-based for removable media. I use udiskie, but there are plenty of options, some of them integrated into GNOME/KDE/XFCE/etc.

Re: [SOLVED] Auto mount other HDD

Yea I only have my root boot swap and home in fstab. Should I make a new entry for the other HDD with a name like /storage (which I think I have it set to)? All the other options haven't seemed to auto mount the drive. I am on Xfce and the disk util in there doesn't auto mount crap for me.

Re: [SOLVED] Auto mount other HDD

fstab has a man page, all the details you need are there. There's also a fstab page in the Arch wiki.

I'm not familiar with xfce, so I can't help with your un-auto-mounted crap. Wiki has a xfce page too, maybe start there.

Re: [SOLVED] Auto mount other HDD

Yea I'll look through that again might of missed something, like I did with the install, with grub2, the splash screen, ect. I just added the drive to fstab a min ago but can't test it yet since I'm upgrading AUR packages but going to look at the wiki and hopefully have everything good this time.

Re: [SOLVED] Auto mount other HDD

Setting fstab up with UUID=xxxx /<folder> ext4 defaults 0 1 did the trick As for the externals and stuff I guess I'll rock with the diskutil program and mount that way. Thanks for the help though. Guess trying to find the fix was cryptic to me or something.
