acpi reports days left until batter charged after disconnect/reconnect

Hi all!

I'm having a very odd problem with my laptop, and acpi in particular.
After boot (while on AC power), acpi correctly reports the remaining time until the battery is fully charged (~5m).
If I disconnect the power, it reports the correct time remaining until depletion (~3h).
However, if I then reconnect the power, running acpi yields a remaining time of 286 hours!

Battery 0: Charging, 95%, 00:05:07 until charged
[13:54] jon@xtend ~ $ acpi
Battery 0: Discharging, 95%, 03:14:27 remaining
[13:55] jon@xtend ~ $ acpi
Battery 0: Charging, 95%, 286:00:00 until charged

Any ideas as to what might be causing this?

No-one else having the same problem?
Or anyone with the know-how to figure out what might be the problem?
