I have one of these http://www.monoprice.com/products/produ … 1&format=2
I also have two monitors connected to my ATI 5670.
I recently installed arch, and noticed that after installing the xf86-video-ati drivers my KMS was setting the resolution incorrectly on my monitor using the display port to VGA adapter.
Is there anyway to force KMS to use the correct resolution (Both of my monitors use the same 1680x1050 resolution)?

I seem to have solved this problem.
the DisplayPort to VGA adapter has had a history of acting strange, even on my windows setup, where it would sometimes not display at the correct resolution.
After un-plugging and pluging it back in it now displays at the correct resolution
For extra saftey I have added
video=dvi-1:1680x1050
to the end of my boot in grub

Actually both the monitors support DVI. However I am running two 25ft VGA extensions to them. When I upgraded to my 5670, unlike my last card, it only had one output that wasn't completely digital (The DVI output). So being cheap I bought a converter instead of two new DVI 25ft cables.
