When will be update?

I newbie, and (don't know | do not want know) how to compile package...

So, I'm using EvilWM as WM and new version ( http://www.6809.org.uk/evilwm/ChangeLog-1.1 ) released 10 days ago, - when will I be able to update via pacman -Syu?

Thanks.

Re: When will be update?

Please don't open threads asking when packages will be updated: the answer is always when the developer decides/has time to do it.

Also, "do not want know" is not really the Arch way - users are expected to help themselves, learning as they go.

Re: When will be update?

To be fair, it's been flagged out of date since October 2010 - is there a procedure for the maintainers to update their packages? How about creating a new package in the testing repo (or is that just for core packages?)

OP - use the AUR, it'll be in there. You'll have to compile it yourself, but it really isn't difficult:

1) Extract the tar.gz into a build folder (under /home)
2) Enter the folder in the terminal and type "makepkg -csi"
3) ?????
4) PROFIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: When will be update?

chemicalfan - you should check your facts before posting. evilwm is not in the AUR, and it is also not permitted in the AUR, as it already exists in an official repo. In addition, the out-of-date flag is only valid since the 1.1.0 release 10 days ago - it should not have been flagged in October last year.

Pooh-Bah - if you really can't bear the idea of learning how to build your own up-to-date package, just be patient and wait. IMO though you should grab this opportunity to get to know Arch a bit better.

From the changelog: Version 1.0.1, Wed Mar 11 2009 is the previous one mentioned, so I don't know why was it flagged out of date

I don't see it in the AUR atm.
