Im completely new to gnome 3 and i have not been able to figure out how to install extensions for the gnome shell. I downloaded gnome-shell-extensions just like the wiki article for gnome said to but i do not now how to install individual extensions or how to enable them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The easiest way to enable/disable them is to make sure you have gnome-tweak-tool after you have installed that and the extensions you want just hit ALT-F2 then 'r or restart' that will restart gnome-shell. Then bring up gnome-tweak-tool (Activities/Applications/Accessories) you will see 'Shell Extensions' and you can turn them on and off in there, then for those setting to take effect you need to once again restart the gnome-shell (ALT-F2 r).
