Pictures "Leaking" through virtual desktop

I've just noticed this weird occurance while typing an email in thunderbird. I started typing and noticed that some letters and entire section of words were turning white, but not in a clean way. It was muddled white if you will, and I started to move my windos around to discover that the white portions were fixed. I then changed my virtual desktop from [1]->[2] and say a very light graphic in a chromium browser that I had left up. I deleted it and the email on the first virtual desktop contained all black characters like it is meant to. By the way I'm running openbox on a kernel-ck 2.6.39. How can I go about preventing this "leaking" from occuring across virtual desktops.

Sorry that was just lazy typing kernel-ck 2.6.39. I Corrected it accordingly.
