[SOLVED] Myanmar font in local font directory

Is there a standard way to just drop a font into say ~/fonts and reload the font-cache as a normal user to add a font? I want to add Myanmar so that I can read the my.wikipedia.com page, but I want to keep things clean and just drop the ttf into my home directory somewhere...

I think you can

xset q | grep -A1 "Font Path"

to see what font paths are currently used and place your font there or add a new fontpath e.g. to xorg.conf.
