I copied some files onto my usb stick yesterday. Today I tried inserting the stick into my pc to delete the previous files and copy on some more. When I insert the stick its volume name appears on the left in Nautilus but it shows as not mounted.
Clicking on it, double-clicking on it and right-clicking on it and then selecting mount all do nothing.
The stick previously auto-mounted (when I copied the files onto it).
dmesg has the following -

If I try to unmount it (just out of interest given it isn't mounted) I get a message that it cannot be unmounted owing to "Daemon is inhibited".
I've done some googling but came up with nothing useful.
Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks

Update. I was able to mount the usb stick and then write and delete to it by double-clicking the desktop icon for the stick. Weird. Stilll no closer to understanding why it didn't mount previously.
It mounted as -
/media/4GB-DATATRA
