HDMI video/audio out not working!!

I use an Asus 1015eepc with the nvdia OPTIMUS + Ion graphics card. I run the card with the nvidia NOT the Intel module. I cannot seem get my computer to display a mirror image on my monitor or tv via HDMI cable with any method I have tried. I am primarily concerned with X11 graphics and ALSA sounds, but console viewing would be neat too. I have read several forums on many sites searching for the answer, but  have found nothing that works for me.
I know the hardware for the HDMI output is not defective because it worked when I previously ran Windows. I thought maybe installing wine and installing a .exe nVidia driver that was used for Windows when it functioned properly would do the trick, but I have yet to try that.

Any knowledge about the 1015 eeepc haveing trouble with HDMI output or any thoughts on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I would also like to thank the contributors to the archwiki and the forums. They are without a doubt the best *nix forums out there.
