i use inkscape for work, so this is a somewhat important issue. i know inscape is a bit dodgy when it comes to printing, but everything was working fine before i updated my system this weekend.
i can't seem to figure out how to get more debugging information to figure out the problem, but i know that:
1) when attempting to print to any printer using cups, inkscape crashes.
2) when printing from inkscape, i can use the gnome "Print to File" option and successfully save my file as a pdf
3) if i try to print using the cups-pdf printer, inkscape crashes.
4) the gimp, lpr, and any other program i have tried does not have a problem printing to physical printers.
5) inkscape itself was not upgraded recently, and a downgrade does not solve the problem
6) removing my user account's config files does not affect the error.
here is a link to a pastebin of my last two system upgrade cycles, from my pacman.log

i have downloaded gdb, but can't figure out how to use it. i have started inkscape from the terminal, but this only gives a useless error message suggesting i report the issue as a bug... which i will, if i can't get it solved.
thank you all in advance for your input.

update gtk2 to 2.24.9-2 and see if is working
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.
