working setup until now:
- wordpress 3.3.1
- nginx 1.2.3-1
- php 5.4.6-1
- php-fpm 5.4.4-1 (5.4.5-1 and 5.4.6-1 tend to segfault)
- mysql 5.5.27-1
A recent upgrade to mysql-5.5.27-3-x86_64 and then a mysqld daemon restart made Categories disappear in WordPress.
I tried importing a backup of the database but it didn't fix the problem. I also tried downgrading php and php-fpm a few versions back but only rolling back mysql makes things work again.
Anybody else seeing this?

I do not see this here (i686 - wordpress 3.4.0, other packages the same).

I also checked that my /etc/mysql/my.cnf was unmodified.
I'll see if I could upgrade WP to 3.4.1 but I don't know how much work it would be.
*EDIT: upgrading WordPress to 3.4.1 (super easy!) and letting it update the database seems to have fixed it.
